NO not that type of ‘Polish & Sparkle’ – That’s for another day!

Alex is our group’s youngest Observer. He passed his Advanced test with a F1rst just five weeks after his first observed drive with our Chief Observer Louisa Davenall. Alex was so enthusiastic that a month later he started his training to be an Observer, which had a slight pause due to lockdown, and in January 2022 he began his IMI training leading to his final drive with Pete Doherty in mid-March and achieving National Observer status.
If this wasn’t enough, Alex has since taken his Masters test and achieved a distinction, which is absolutely fantastic, and a real testament to his dedication to safer driving and helping others become safer drivers too. We are very proud of Alex’s achievements, and he is a real inspiration for our younger drivers.

Alex will be sharing some of this knowledge and skill to our group during his presentation, helping us to further improve our own driving. This promises to be a very interesting, informative and worthwhile Training Night. Whether you are an Associate, or have already passed your test, there will be somthing for everyone, but no chamois leathers!

This is what Alex has said about his presentation:

“What are the elements that will turn a standard pass into a F1RST? What transforms a good drive into an exceptional drive? What’s next after gaining Advanced Driver status?”

“This talk aims to explore the components of quiet efficiency and finesse needed to take your driving to the next level. Within this, there will also be an introduction to the Masters driving qualification for those intrigued about progressing beyond the Advanced level. This talk will be accessible to all members so whether you are a new Associate still getting to grips with System or an experienced member with thousands of miles of advanced driving under your belt, there will be plenty here for everyone.”
